Yirgachefe is the best coffee in the world, period.
You may be asking yourself, how can this be? I’ll give you a quick explainer on why—and how—you need this coffee in your coffee-consuming repertoire.
In case you aren’t aware, Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, specifically arabica beans. The arabica plant is indigenous to Ethiopia, particularly in the Sidamo region in the south of the country, and, to drill down even further, to the town of Yirgachefe. I bet you get it now… I knew you would.
The warm, tropical climate, paired with healthy soils and high elevation, are attributes that allow the plants and beans to develop complex and deep flavor profiles. The great thing about Yirgachefe (besides being the birthplace of coffee) is that there are many heirloom varietals available. While the rabbit hole here is deep, I’ll stick to the one we have chosen for this GM co-release: its growing location, tasting notes, and what to expect from a cup of this amazing brew.
